Happily it is getting more difficult to Swift-boat Obama as time goes by. The Reverend Mr. Hagee has helped by neutralizing Pastor Wright. The Obama campaign team has shown that it is in quick-response mode and has a quick competency that was missing in the campaigns of Mike Dukakis, Al Gore and John Kerry. Nevertheless, you are right -- we do not know whether Obama will be able to overcome the embedded racism of our white brothers and sisters. It is encouraging that Obama not only understands this, but will be able to express these arguments brilliantly. Unquestionably, he will gradually demolish McCain as they face off after the primary battle is finished (yes, Obama has it wrapped). Much scarier is what Karl Rove and his cohorts may cook up to undermine or otherwise Swift-boat Obama. Sadly, there are literally millions of Americans looking for an excuse to exercise their inbred or accustomed racial prejudice.
